1977 -26 years
ago - A friendship between Doug and Craig started them practicing
FRISBEE together. |
|
1998: After 22 years of practice
, Doug and Craig decided to make the first instructional video
for throwing FRISBEE Discs |
|
1998: Contacted Wham-O and
was highly encouraged by Wham-O Product Manager, Arthur Coddington
(then also the current World Freestyle Champion), to follow through
with making a basic throwing instructional video to "bridge the
gap" between the huge number of new FRISBEE Disc players and the much smaller
number of experienced FRISBEE players. |
|
1998: Began renting a space
for year-round FRISBEE Disc training to help develop and polish
a School Assembly routine. (This space has continued to be rented, to steadily
practice and perfect this assembly program for getting children interested
in FRISBEE disc play -now in 2002) |
|
1998: Created and successfully
tested (via free clinics) the new, quick-fix, instructional
techniques that would eventually be put onto the video. |
|
1998: Created and tested
(in two Bozeman MT Schools) a school assembly program
which were both highly successful at entertaining and inspiring the children
to get started with FRISBEE play. One of these school assemblies
was covered by the local TV news and shown on evening news broadcast. |
|
1998: Contacted KUSM, Montana
Public Television about a partnership to produce the instructional
video. An agreement was reached and filming began immediately. |
|
1998: Motodom.com was established
and a full script for the video was created by Doug and Craig. |
|
1999: Finished filming and editing
with KUSM, and took video to Earthtalk Inc. for final editing, and creation
of video cover "Heave H.O.E." (Heaven On Earth) Basic Instructions for All
FRISBEE Flying Disc Students. |
|
1999: Began marketing
the instructional Video "Heave H.O.E."- which quickly went to
the top of nearly all search engines on the Internet, under such
key words as "FRISBEE INSTRUCTIONS" and "FRISBEE VIDEO." It has
remained at the top of nearly all search engines for the last
three years. |
|
1999: Sent complimentary copies
of the video to various Disc players who coach others players (for
Ultimate and Disc Golf), and received critical acclaim for creating
a video that excelled FRISBEE Teachers and students farther and
faster along the learning curve than any tool before. Confirming that the
video allowed the teacher to be a much better teacher, and the students to
quickly throw straight and far. |
|
2000: Sent video to School
Library Journal and American Library Association: Booklist |
|
2001: Received critical acclaim
from School Library Journal (7/2001) and American Library Association:
Booklist (8/2001) |
